FINDING THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THE RIGHT PERSON
Generally a Care Co-ordinator, a CPN, SW or an existing carer will make an approach on the client’s behalf. Please, just call us on 01202 551696 in normal office hours or use our Contacts page. We encourage a visit, with the client, and other “get to know us” visits are encouraged
We always invite the client to visit so that we can make a full assessment and decide if this is the right accommodation at this time. The client is fully involved in the process and of course also decides if the placement seems suitable for them.
We welcome those who will be funding themselves and we will follow the same assessment process to decide suitability. Any such referrals should be made directly to us using any of our contact methods including email direct from here.
We have a written policy of fair and open access and we do our best to ensure there is no discrimination in our access process against any individual or groups for any reason.
We judge everyone on their current merits, not on their past. As landlord, we need to consider how all the tenants in a house will get on with each other. For people with a current drink or drug problem or serious personality disorder this may be a problem, but a history of such problems may not be.
For anyone who has been “sectioned” under the Mental Health Act, a Local Authority has a responsibility to fund “aftercare”. This can be a rather complex issue but we are happy to discuss and advise.
OUT OF BOROUGH
We are open to everyone and referrals can be made from any Borough or any part of the country as well as Bournemouth.
Anyone who believes they have support needs can ask Social Services for an assessment, called a Community Care Assessment. Following that, the care requirement will be converted into a monetary value which may be paid as a Personal Budget.
Right now we have;
